Hanif Kureshi is an art director/ graphic designer based in New Delhi. Kureshi is fascinated with typography and started handpaintedtype.com, a project to preserve and digitize the country's myriad street painters' styles. HandPaintedType releases fonts designed by signboard painters from all over India. Kureshi is also interested in urban art. His work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale (2011), Centre Pompidou, Paris (2011), Design Helps in Helsinki, Finland (2012) among others.Kureshi has been a speaker at global design events such as TypoBerlin (2012) and Atypl in Iceland (2011). 
Hanif studied Fine Arts at M.S. University of Baroda. He has worked at Ogilvy & Mather’s offices in Delhi and Mumbai and is currently a senior creative with Wieden+Kennedy, Delhi.
