    Great guide, great experience

We lucked out and went to the Sumo training on a day when they were practicing a great variety of wrestling skills. It was incredible to see the different techniques employed. I was told the wrestlers were very flexible, but it is another thing to see it in reality. Our guide was very informative and had explained the different exercises the athletes do. He was very enthusiastic and provided a lot of background and context. At the end we were able to have our pictures taken with some of the athletes. It was a great experience.

Up close and personal sumo action

Watching the sumo training was fantastic. Starts off slow and hypnotic as they warm up and then it's like a thunderstorm of big bodies smashing into each other. This is a great experience to see some Japanese cultural and sport up close and personal.

    Up close and personal

This was a great way to see first hand the rigour and discipline that goes into Sumo wrestling. A great morning with the sumo wrestlers in their training stable with their masters and coaches. Better than a wrestling match in a big stadium. We were up front, up close and could see the true grit of this sport. Great to get insights from our guide as to the workings of the sumo stable, the hierarchy and the daily routine of the sumo wrestler.

What an absolutely amazing experience! My Partner and I were disappointed that we weren't able to obtain tickets to see a sumo match but were blown away by the Sum Training experience! An early start to get face to face with these giants was well worth it, they all undertook several bouts and showed off their flexibility and strength. The guide was very knowledgable and friendly and I can not recommend this experience enough to someone wanting to see Sumos!

    Incredible Experience

This was a top highlight of our Japan trip. We originally were trying to get into the sumo tournament, but all tickets were sold out. We found this instead and this was so much better! We had front row seats to almost two hours of sumo wrestling! Our guide was amazing. So friendly and helpful every step of the way. We learned a lot and got a lot of pictures and videos. Apparently they don't always allow picture and video, but we got lucky. I highly recommend this activity. You won't regret the cost or waking up early to go there!

One of the best ways to experience Japan!

What better way to experience Japan than to immerse directly into the culture itself. Instead of the conventional shopping around Tokyo, we'd arranged for this and the host Yeonmi had made this experience so enjoyable.

Coordination was a breeze. We had "front row seats" and could literally feel the sumo's wrestlers' sweat. Yes, we were that close. And from there we saw the wrestlers' dedication and perseverance and experienced a different side of Japan.

And to top it all off, a photo with the sumo wrestlers for memory. Just wonderful :)
