Ever wanted to learn more about Indonesian cuisine? This cooking class in our home is a great way to learn more about this delicious cuisine in a friendly and welcoming environment. We start the day by picking you up from your hotel in Senggigi at around 9.45am. Then, it is a short 10-15 minute drive to our house, where you can enjoy our welcome drink and relax in the garden. The day will start with me introducing the utensils, ingredients and background of Indonesian cuisine. I will then assign each person a task, such that we can get cooking! : ) The cooking will take about 2 hours, and starting 12pm, we can sit down to enjoy the food and chat until 1.30pm. We make a minimum of 4-5 dishes each class, and a sample menu might look like below (this changes every day depending on what I think will go together): - Tempe manis - Fish in Banana Leaf - Perkedel Jagung (Corn Fritters) - Curry (Chicken, Fish or Beef) - Tofu with Yoghurt and Cream - Ikan bakar (Grilled fish) As someone who understands what it is like living abroad, I make it a point to teach dishes that you can reproduce at home, with the ingredients easily available to you.
