I have been taking guests around for some time now, but one of the most unique trips I know of in Bali is a trip to the ancient village of Trunyan... We combine this visit with several other site of interest to make your day worthwhile! ABOUT TRUNYAN: Untouched by modern influences, Trunyan is particularly known for its kuburan or cemetery, located about 500 meters outside the village. The village's method of dispatching the dead is particularly intriguing, as the villagers don't believe in cremation and instead choose a weathering burial. Essentially, the villagers cover the bodies of the deceased with a white cloth and proceed to conduct lengthy rituals. A bamboo cage surrounds the body, which is then left to the elements. You will be able to see this macabre collection of skulls and bones lying on the stone platform and the surrounding areas. It will be a completely surreal experience! The village also houses several traditional Bali Aga-style dwellings, and a large banyan tree, which is said to be more than 1, 100 years old. SUGGESTED ITINERARY - 08. 30 Leave hotel - 09. 30 Batu Bulan village; Barong & Kris dance performance. - 11. 00 Tohpati village; Traditional hand weaving cloth/ Batik - 11. 45 Mas village; House of traditional wood carving. - 12. 30 Tegalalang ; the most beautiful rice fields terraces in Bali - 13. 15 Coffee and cacao plantation. - 14. 00 Kintamani ; Fascinating Volcano & lake Batur ( buffet lunch ) - 15. 30 Trunyan ; Original Bali Aga village. - 16. 30 Toya Bungkah ; natural hot spring. - 18. 30 Back to hotel
