Local Hero is a 47ft fully equipped cruising ship that can be chartered for day sailing, harbor and beach cruising, or for a romantic evening cruise complete with a three-course meal. The ship is also available for overnight stays as the boat comfortably sleeps 4 to 6 people in two double cabins and has two bathrooms with hot showers. 3-HOUR SAIL Your sailing adventure starts at Aberdeen Harbor on the West Coast of Hong Kong Island. Aberdeen Harbor is home to the famous floating seafood restaurants and floating village where the Tanka people (or Boat People) still live on the water in old traditional junk boats. From Aberdeen Harbor, we will carry on cruising around the South West coast going past Deep Water Bay and Middle Island where two Yacht Clubs are based. We will then go past Repulse Bay, which has a fascinating history that includes being used as a base for pirates in the mid 1800's and as a key strategic location in the Battle of Hong Kong and in World War II. Today, Repulse Bay is home to some of the most expensive real estate in Hong Kong and one of its finest beaches. Continuing south, we will sail past Stanley Fort, which is a grade 1 listed historic building, where the British and Canadian troops mounted a final last stand during the Battle of Hong Kong. Afterward, we will sail around the Po Toi Islands before cruising back in. You can choose to end your sailing adventure in either Stanley or Aberdeen. At Stanley, you could get some lunch or dinner in one of the many bars and restaurants along the waterfront, spend the afternoon relaxing on one of Stanley's beaches or pick up some souvenirs in the market. At Aberdeen, you could get some lunch or dinner at one of the floating restaurants or take a walk around the wet market before heading back to Central. During your sailing adventure, you can choose to be as hands on or hands off in the actual sailing of the boat as you like. Your crew will be more then happy to show you the ropes or simply serve you drinks as you sit back and relax. 6-HOUR SAIL Like the 3-hour sail your 6-hour adventure sail starts at Aberdeen and takes in Deep Water Bay, Middle Island, Repulse bay, Stanley Fort and the Po Toi Islands. We drop anchor at Po Toi and spend an hour on land enjoying a delicious fresh seafood lunch. Should you wish there is an opportunity to enjoy some moderate hiking up an easy trail before returning back to the sloop. Chartering the boat for 6 hours gives you that extra time on the water to master your sailing skills or simply enjoy some extra time on the water taking in the sights and sounds of Hong Kong. Enjoy your time on Local Hero and explore amazing places in Hong Kong!
