This is the only place where you can experience both Soroban and Amakoji!

I and my sister are instructors of Soroban. Soroban is a Japanese traditional calculation tool.

The fingertip is called the 2nd brain and it is proved scientifically that using the abacus with fingertip effectively activates the right brain.

This summer, we moved to an old Japanese style house which was built 35 years ago. We can see the cherry blossom in spring, nice green leaves in summer, and beautiful autumn leaves in the park from the window in our living room. You can experience Soroban in this living room with a beautiful scenery or in a tatami room, if you prefer.

At the end of Soroban lesson we’ll serve you the seasonal sweets and Amakoji drink. Amakoji is made with boiled rice and rice malt existing only in Japan. It takes at least 8 hours to ferment Amakoji. It is called a “drinkable essence” and/or “drinkable drip infusion”

We are planning to improve the program by adding Koji (rice malt) cooking program very soon.
