Learn Japanese Baking and Cooking in a Japanese Home

The first man in Japan to bake bread is said to be Egawa Hidetatsu in the early 1800s. Today, bread in Japan is very common – and very popular. There are so many types of bread, in fact, that it’s unbelievable. Step into any local convenience store and you’ll find 20 different types of bread to choose from. Step into a bread store, and you’ll have too many to choose from. In this activity, we’ll show you how to bake Japanese-style bread! You’ll get to mix-in ingredients you never thought would go well with bread – such as the anpan (bean paste-filled bread with sesame on top). We’ll choose the best dough for bread you would like to bake! 1) Explanation of the recipe for the bread we’ll be baking 2) Make dough together 3) Leaven dough together 4) Start Baking 5) Wait until bread is fully baked 6) Eat the bread you made while having tea. 7) Take home any leftovers! Let us explain our services as following. - 1. Visiting Japanese home I live in Tokyo city area as a newly-married couple. We provide the cooking class not at the cooking studio but at our home. Please come to our home and fell the Japanese home. My husband's hobby is Kendo. It is Japanese traditional martial arts which Samurais practiced very much to be stronger in the past. If you want , you can experience this Samurai's martial arts. - 2. The lessons of how to cook the Japanese dishes and eating I prepare the beautiful and delicious Japanese traditional menu which varies seasonally. Using seasonable ingredients helps not only to maintain bodily functions, but also to feel four seasons. Japanese food have developed in a unique way, and you can experience that originality by making them. If you want, I can customize the menu. Please ask me what ever you want to cook and eat. - 3. Thorough explanations in English I have the experience of study and work in California USA, and I'm working for the international school as a school nurse now. - 4. Special gifts When we make the Sushi at the class, we use the Sushi roll kit which you can get for free. It is so simple and easy that you can cook again after going back to your county. Additionally I prepared the Tenugui for you to feel the Japanese mind. However I will be on maternity leave from December 2014, so please contact me for future availability. Thank you!
