Live like a King: Stay at a Palace & Visit Forts & Temples

Rajasthan is well-known for its palaces and forts and one of the most famous destinations for tourists. However, Rajasthan has another face: its people! In this experience, not only will you get to stay like a royal at castle, but you'll also get to meet local Rajasthani people. You'll also get to explore villages and experience firsthand the various mechanisms that make the village tick. You can be a part of the morning opium meet, go spend the day with Rabaaddi Tribes, learn the art of Block Printing, and watch the sun go down behind the awe inspiring rock formations in the evenings. Detailed Itinerary DAY 1: You alight at the NANA station if travelling by train or at the Jodhpur/Udaipur airport. You will be met by our representative. Our representative will escort you to your place of stay. Welcome and registration, you can have refreshments and retire to your room for freshening and a rest. Later you can meet your hosts, get to know them. Lunch will be with the family. A siesta. After afternoon tea, you will be taken on a Tour of the Rawala, (a small haveli), your place of stay for the next 3 days. Later, you will visit the Rabbaddi Dhani, home of the shepherds. Participate in the blanket weaving activity from goat hair. Dinner will be with the Thakur Saab and his wife Ladissa. DAY 2: Early morning rise, after breakfast depart for Ranakpur, The Exquisite Carved Jain Temples. Today you will have a village lunch in a place called Bhanpura. Bhanpura is known for its Persian wheels still in use for irrigating the fields. After a lunch of Makke Ki Roti, Batuaye Ki Kadhi and Saag, you take your afternoon nap on the Charpayi under the mango tree. Have tea and leave for Kumbhalgarh Fort, a magnificent fort nestling in the Aravalis, the oldest mountain range in the world and probably the most beautiful. Visit the fort and see the sound and light show. Return back to your stay in time for dinner. DAY 3: After a relaxed breakfast, you can cycle to the Jawai Lake for crocodile sighting. Picnic at the lake. Come back to the Rawala for a siesta. Today, there will be a royal feast laid out for you. You can be a part of the preparations. Royal dinner with a cultural program. DAY 4: After breakfast, bid goodbye to your host family and proceed to your onward journey.
