Mt Fuji Climbing Tour – Overnight Guided Hike from Tokyo

Mt Fuji Climbing Tour – Overnight Guided Hike from Tokyo Easily the highlight of our Japan experience. We had a biggish group of about 20 ranging from all ages from all around the globe. Most of us picked up our hiking equipment with the tour group. Everything was super easy and I highly recommend hiring equipment unless you are planning on more hiking throughout Japan. Lots of different sizes, everything worn but clean and in very good condition and they make you try it all on before you leave to make sure you have the right sizes.

Our guide, Ken was amazing, limited English but very keen to speak to everyone and made sure we were all very well looked after. Super patient and catered for both the strongest and the weakest in the group.

All the huts are well looked after and well stocked for everything you might need but I do recommend bringing your own food/water/sports drinks. Bring lots of small change for using the toilets or getting your climbing stick stamped as well. The hut we stayed in was comfortable and warm with a hearty dinner.

The hike up is tough (for beginners like us) and it was VERY hot and sweaty work (we climbed up at the beginning of August) but so well worth it to see the sunset at the very peak of Fuji the next morning. It did feel a bit rushed getting to the top, climbing around the crater and then all of a sudden we were instructed to start the climb down. We would have liked a bit more time to soak up the experience but we didn't want the group to leave us behind.

The onsen at the end of the trip would have been a lovely experience but both my husband and I have tattoos and we were not allowed to go into the baths. This was super disappointing and a pain having to wait for everyone. Had I have known beforehand I would have organised another way back to Tokyo but you live and learn.

I can't recommend this experience enough. Even if you are an experienced hiker, the organisation around transfers, equipment hire, hut stay and onsen is more then enough reason to book this trip.

Reservation for Owl Cafe in Tokyo (Official Partner)

Reservation for Owl Cafe in Tokyo (Official Partner) Lovely little cafe, easy to find with good signage. Would have liked to get a little more history about the owls but the girls had limited English and we had very limited Japanese. All the owls were very well cared for in a clean environment separate to the dining area. Would definitely go again!

30% OFF Ninja WiFi Router Rental Service in Japan

30% OFF Ninja WiFi Router Rental Service in Japan Strong connection, super reliable. Don't mess around with sketchy wi fi connections at the local Izakaya, stay connected all day with the Ninja. Wish it had a little more battery life but we were able to connect it to our power bank for longer day/nights out. Two thumbs up.

Tsukiji Tuna Auction Tour with a Guide During the Night

Tsukiji Tuna Auction Tour with a Guide During the Night I had a really fun time during this tour. My guide, Yumiko-san was very friendly, she was very accommodating, fast to reply thru emails, and speaks English very well. I'm really happy I did this one-on-one guide tour because other than being a tour guide, I'm talking to her as my friend. She was very informative as she would tell me more about how the Tsukiji Market started in the past. The waiting time was very long compared to the tour time but it was worth it.

I availed the after hours tour, and she took me around the inner and outer market, I was able to try so many free samples of food. She also took me to the nearby shrines and a park. And on my way back she came with me to the train station.

Thank you Yumiko-san, I really had a great time with you! Hope to see you soon!

5% OFF Tokyo Subway 24-Hour, 48-Hour, 72-Hour Unlimited Pass Far easier than trying to use the Pasmo or Suica card. You know that you aren't going to have issues with credit on the card as it's valid for the days of travel.

30% OFF Ninja WiFi Router Rental Service in Japan

30% OFF Ninja WiFi Router Rental Service in Japan The wifi device is great. it does the job.
We only had issues in Hakone where we didn't get any signal.
Also being a heatwave in Japan this year the device would often overheat, so we only powered it on when we needed it (even our own phones were struggling with the heat)

Reservation ticket for Final Fantasy Eorzea Cafe in Tokyo

Reservation ticket for Final Fantasy Eorzea Cafe in Tokyo The whole experience was awesome. Good food, great drinks, and the atmosphere was incredible. Just some thoughts, though:

if you can't speak any Japanese, you'll have a difficult time figuring out the raffle and whether or not you won. Also, none of the announcements are in English. And finally, you get the paper coasters for EVERY individual thing you order, not just drinks. You can theoretcially collect the whole set if you come with multiple people.

My experience was amplified because I got a table for 2, even though I only had just myself, so my first 2 drinks were free, and I got coasters for both of them. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and definitely a highlight of my trip to Japan.

Mt Fuji Climbing Tour – Overnight Guided Hike from Tokyo

Mt Fuji Climbing Tour – Overnight Guided Hike from Tokyo It’s a remarkable hike that everyone has to stay together during the hiking and the tour guide speaks almost perfect English. The pace is slow and steady ( excellent) and the guide make sure all of us is safe and sound. I wouldn’t make it to the top and return if it’s not because of the guide. Japanese gives full responsible in whichever professions they are working.

The downside of the trip -We don’t have long rest or chilling time because we are running on schedule - catching the dinner, catching the sunrise, catching the return bus. Only 5-10 mins break and a total of 5 breaks.

The overnight hut was small, narrow bed as such you touch each other shoulder but it’s just for 4 hours nap. Drinks are super expensive (500jpy) but we will pay to prevent dehydration anyway.

Recommend the trip for those who has hiking stamina but not those who’s reluctant to endure. Overall the hike experience is about the Japanese culture, the shooting stars and the super quick sun rise at the peak of the Mount Fuji. The journey of the hike is not sceneric but it’s really worth with the experience we gained and not exchangeable by money
