Dress in a real silk Kimono near Nagoya

Dress in a real silk Kimono near Nagoya I enjoyed this so much! Not just getting to wear the kimono that is professionally fitted on you but for meeting the ladies behind it. They were so welcoming from the beginning and it was nice to sit down and have tea with them after. They explained kimono and other Japanese history and cultural questions I had. It was so lovely being welcomed into someone’s home, thanks so much. Arigato gozaimasu, Hejime mashte.

Dress in a real silk Kimono near Nagoya

Dress in a real silk Kimono near Nagoya Both Akiko-san and Hisae-san were very welcoming. Hisae-san picked me up from the station and dropped me off afterward too.

Hisae-san was pleased to share her love of kimono. She even showed me how to wear a Yukata properly. She was very knowledgable.
I can say for certainty I made a new friend today.

    Thank you very much!

Ikebana near Nagoya and walk around Arimatsu old town

Ikebana near Nagoya and walk around Arimatsu old town To sum up it was a great afternoon I spent with Mrs. Kayoko Kondo (partner of Ms. Okabe) in her house trying Ikebana for the first time. First, she introduced me to a japanese tea ceremony. Then she gave me some information about how to do ikebana and demonstrated it arranging flowers while explaining. Afterwards I could choose some flowers she bought for me and I tried my first Ikebana myself. I could do it the way I liked and whenever I needed advice she helped very kindfully. In the end she helped me to correct some mistakes I made. I was surprised that the result was so good right at the first try. Mrs. Kondo is such a friendly teacher, is fluent in english and was happy to answer any questions. She even picked me up at the train station about 20 minutes away of Nagoya station and afterwards she showed me around Arimatsu. Thank you so much for the great experience!

Attend Nagoya's Sumo Tournament with a guide

Attend Nagoya's Sumo Tournament with a guide The host organised this really well and went beyond the call of duty to provide excellent customer service. The sumo tournament is so unusual that having a guide was a real bonus.
