Take a day trip from Nagoya to Inuyama and see unique sites!

Take a day trip from Nagoya to Inuyama and see unique sites! Yoshi-san is a retired gentleman who takes this tour-guide business seriously - he does his homework and comes prepared with his folder of flyers and information. We went the day walking through various sites in Inuyama, and I'd recommend the side trip to the Tagata shrine for an eye-opener to a uniquely Japanese cultural perspective. Save Meiji-mura for a separate day on its own.

Explore the samurai legacy of Nagoya with a private guide

Explore the samurai legacy of Nagoya with a private guide The itinerary was fairly typical at the key sites but some aspects of the tour may not appeal to all. The little detour to the arcade for some photo-booth fun was interesting but may not appeal to the older traveller. Mayuko-san is an energetic guide who speaks English fairly well but on our trip, she was fairly busy typing away on her phone on many an occasion - some may find this unprofessional, but if you consider it as a day trip with a friend, you probably won't mind so much. The day pass on the subway is a great little bonus and is helpful for local travel for the rest of the day on the subway lines (where your JR pass is moot). On the whole it was alright and I'd recommend it to anyone who'd like an English speaking local guide to show you around.

Visit Takayama & Shirakawago From Nagoya by Bus!

Visit Takayama & Shirakawago From Nagoya by Bus! Takayama gets us back in time, Shirakawago invites us to see the unique village life at the foot of the mountain with the freshaaaa air and the beautiful scenery. Everything is fun, unfortunately not supported Tour Leader to tell the history, background, and what happened to this visited area. Tour Leader more silent on the bus and let us go alone without any explanation, bad Leader.

Visit Takayama & Shirakawago From Nagoya by Bus!

Visit Takayama & Shirakawago From Nagoya by Bus! I originally booked this through Voyagin instead of just booking directly with the Japanese company because I thought the translator would help me understand the history of places or cultural aspects that the Japanese tour guide would be saying. The translator was wonderful and did translate everything the Japanese tour guide said, but it so happened that the guide did not say much of everything beyond when to get on and off the bus. I live and work in Japan, so my situation is probably not that of the majority of people who would book this. I speak enough Japanese that I could have easily gone without the translator, but I did not want to when booking because I thought there would be so much more to translate. I was disappointed by the lack of history or interesting stories on the tour guide's part. Probably the highlight of the trip was how convenient the transportation was.
