Make your own Samurai Knife with a Certified Swordsmith!

Make your own Samurai Knife with a Certified Swordsmith! For me anyway, most tourist attractions are a "one-direction" experience.. you're a passive observer for most things other than rides etc.

This was a large chunk of the day and I had a blast making the knife. I knew nothing about metals coming into it and learned so much even though it was a relatively basic project.

Even with the initial template metal pre-done, there was tons of hammering, heating, bending to make it one of a kind. Super happy. In fact, I did this as a gift for someone close to me, but **I** want the knife as I was so involved in making the thing! haha!! So, for that... it's now a more special gift.

I'd recommend bringing a few bottles of water and a change of clothes. It gets HOT. You will sweat. You will around smoke from the forge and tempering process. You pobably won't want to smell like that on the Shinkansen back to Tokyo ;)

20% OFF Book a Kimono Rental Hana Plan in Kyoto The building is very easy to find. We went there by cab telling the driver Yumekata for kimono. It was a large building compared to others that i saw on the street. Go there early and you will definitely get very pretty kimono! Staffs are very friendly ! Definitely recommend this place to the rest of you who are planning to experience in the kimono costume!

Enjoy an Authentic Tea Ceremony Experience in Kyoto

Enjoy an Authentic Tea Ceremony Experience in Kyoto This was a nice little break from all of our sightseeing in Kyoto. The women that ran the workshop were so sweet and cute it was a delight to watch and listen to them talk about the team ceremony. We enjoyed mixing our matcha! Only wish that the hosts' english was a little better so we could engage in more Q&A.
