Make your own Samurai Knife with a Certified Swordsmith!

Make your own Samurai Knife with a Certified Swordsmith! I am so happy that I choose to do this experience with Master Taro he and his apprentices are very patient and show so much approval for you and your work throughout the process you can tell how loving they are working with you they won't let you get hurt or leave with a bad knife

Make your own Samurai Knife with a Certified Swordsmith!

Make your own Samurai Knife with a Certified Swordsmith! My husband and I both participated in a session with Taro making our own knives. The experience was absolutely amazing as we actually got to participate in all steps of the knife making/forging process. Taro was so helpful in explaining the techniques we should use for each step and provided perfect guidance along the way. His hospitality throughout the entire experience was amazing and I cannot recommend this experience enough.

Make your own Samurai Knife with a Certified Swordsmith!

Make your own Samurai Knife with a Certified Swordsmith! Making knives with Taro-san and his apprentices was a dream come true! Getting a chance to work alongside a master (and to see how amazing his skills are) is a rare opportunity. We made our own knives, as Taro-san quietly and patiently guided us through the process. It is well worth the trip out. Ask him about his philosophy - and how he is modernizing the world of sword making.

You can see more of his studio's and visiting students' work on Instagram with the hashtag: #kniveswithtaro. Check it out!

Note: We came from Osaka (~2 hours by car/train) and it was so worth it.

    Wear a Kimono in Asakusa

Wear a Kimono in Asakusa It was an incredible experience having the opportunity to walk around asakusa wearing a beautiful kimono. The shooting experience was unique! Not only I had great pictures but also got to know the history of the neighbourhood and walk around hidden spots. I enjoyed choosing my Kimono among the many options and the "dressing" experience. Staff was extremely sweet and helpful. I highly recommend it to solo travellers!
