Discover the Offbeat Side of Mumbai

Discover the Offbeat Side of Mumbai This is an excellent tour with Zeeshan, whom himself is a wonderful guide. My last day in Mumbai was spent in the morning on the half day tour starting from Sassoon Docks seeing the Koli fishermen coming in with their catch to their family selling their catch. We vistited a number of very interesting place such as the Dhobi Ghat, Koli fishermen's village, Spice Market and Thieves Market.
My desire was to come to Mumbai was not as a tourist snapping away pictures of everything I saw, but to appreciate, absorb and captivate the different fabrics that bind Mumbai as a Wonderful city to visit.
Afer the tour, Zeeshan was very kind and thoughtful to organise a taxi at a good rate to take me to the airport from Colaba.
Thank you to Zeeshan, Oves (my first guide who took me to Dharavi-an ecellent tour and guide) and Fahim. I highly recommend these tours not only for their prices, but for their high quality content and excellent guides.

Visit Old Delhi, from the Bazaar to the Traditional Home

Visit Old Delhi, from the Bazaar to the Traditional Home I'm Indian by birth, but grew up in Japan, so I haven't had the opportunity to explore India much. As such, I didn't know what quite to expect and how much more there was to see of Old Delhi than I vaguely remembered from my childhood. Oh, how I was wrong! Dhruv's tour takes you through the sights, smells, feel, taste, and noises of Old Delhi's Bazaar. Having lived in the heart of Old Delhi, he is distinctly familiar with every nook and cranny of this place. He introduced us to shopkeepers who his family has known for generations (a very Indian thing), took us to see a beautiful old mosque that no one was paying attention to, and even made us taste street food (which I as a "foreigner" am very cautious of) without getting us sick! The best part has to be the surprise at the end though (don't read on unless you want spoilers). You get to visit Dhruv's family's exquisite haveli (old home) in the center of all the buzz. He has redone it up and it has a quaint little feel to it. There, he gives you a tour of the place, sits you down to meet his family, eat good food, gives you kite lessons, and just makes you relax and feel at home. It's totally the best experience ever. Dhruv's tour is made to feel how every single experience should feel like when traveling. I would do Dhruv's tour in a heartbeat again and you should too!

Learn about Life in Delhi's Slums with a Local

Learn about Life in Delhi's Slums with a Local This was a fantastic experience! Shiva is very knowledgeable about the community and the people there, as he runs a nonprofit in the area. The locals were extremely friendly and did not try to pressure any sales or similar tactics that can be expected from tourist experiences elsewhere in India. I also want to credit Shiva for giving me the full 2 hours of the experience despite the fact that I had gone to the wrong station and showed up late. Overall, a very unique experience that could not easily be found on my own or found through other routes. Thank you!

Following the Thread - A Textile Trail in Gujarat

Following the Thread - A Textile Trail in Gujarat The highlight for me was hearing the arists talk about the processes involved in their
creations. Also the interactions between the tour leader and fellow tour members were very enjoyable - the tour leader was always helpful in telling us about local foods and customs to show us what was happening and why.

Cycle through Old Delhi: The Shah Jahan Tour

Cycle through Old Delhi: The Shah Jahan Tour It was a great ride through Old Delhi. The meeting place was easy to get to and all of the staff were helpful and friendly. Also, they emailed me a few days out and they were available through email and phone if I needed anything. Furthermore, as you meet them at a parking garage, two of the staff members met me at the street. I was traveling solo and in Delhi for 4 days in October 2013 and this was the most fun that I had. It was great to hangout with other travelers and the staff. In fact I just signed up to do a different cycle tour this October.

An Inside Look at the Slums of Mumbai: Dharavi

An Inside Look at the Slums of Mumbai: Dharavi We were so happy that we found this group, it made a big difference in our experience of Mumbai. The host, Tauseef, was very articulate and responsive. The conditions are difficult in Dharavi, it isn't an easy trip, but certainly worth it. Will take a long time to digest. We had some difficulty with the arrangement, the hour of meeting was given differently to him and to us, so make sure all is clear and phone your host if there is a problem. We didn't feel we were intruding on the people of Dharavi and definitely think this tour is worthwhile both for them and for us. Give it a minimum of 4 hours - also including the traffic on the way!
