This impressive bridge along the Shimanami Kaido route spans 1480 meters and connects Hiroshima's Ikuchijima Island with Ehime's Omishima Island. It is currently the fourth longest cable-stayed bridge in the world and offers wonderful views across the scenery of Seto Inland Sea.
Innoshima Suigun Castle
A unique historical museum built as a castle in the center of Innoshima Island. The monument was based on the construction used by the powerful Murakami Suigin naval force during the 15th century. Currently it houses precious historical artefacts from that period.
Dolphin Farm Shimanami
This new marine park opened in 2016 on Hakatajima Island along the Shimanami Kaido route. Its exciting attractions include not only watching dolphins from a close proximity, but also swimming alongside and interacting with them!

Built along several hills, Onomichi has one of the highest concentration of temples in Japan. The most pleasant way of exploring the city is to take the designated Temple Walk which connects many of the historical buildings and leads through narrow back alleys up and down the hills. The route is also adored by cat lovers for the many cute animals encountered along the way.
This unique temple located on Ikuchijima Island was built in the 20th century by a wealthy businessman who was a devoted Buddhist. In a rather eclectic fashion, it features copies of famous buildings, including the Phoenix Hall of Byodoin Temple and the Yomeimon Gate in Nikko. The top of the hill is occupied by the marble garden “Miraishin no Oka” reminding visitors of Mediterranean landscape and atmosphere.
