Learn how to grow wasabi at Japan's largest wasabi farm!

Learn how to grow wasabi at Japan's largest wasabi farm! The price is only more worth it if you go in groups. The guide is very helpful and informative. Even volunteered to call for a cab back to station from the farm. She also helped to get discount for wasabi ice cream.

Enjoy Japanese seasonal foods and culture at Yokoya farm

Enjoy Japanese seasonal foods and culture at Yokoya farm Ken and Asuka are young and friendly hosts who provide a fantastic opportunity to experience the real lifestyle of local people in the Japanese countryside. This activity isn't about touristy sightseeing, but about learning how ordinary Japanese people live and interacting with them. The hosts are very hospitable and offer free pick-up/drop-off service. What you do at their home depends on the season: we did mochi pounding and cooking because that's exactly what Japanese people do at the end of December. Overall a very recommended experience if you have a couple of spare hours in Matsumoto city!

See the splendid Matsumoto Castle and the city's highlights

See the splendid Matsumoto Castle and the city's highlights Nobuko was a fantastic host and spoke good english. The castle is fascinating with a focus on how war defense changed in the area with the introduction of guns as weapons. Mind the steep stairs but worth it for the view from the top! Also got to see some more of the local area and enjoy some good local food. Enjoyable half day tour.

Nov 23rd Only: Ebisu-ko Fireworks Show & Snow Monkey Tour

Nov 23rd Only: Ebisu-ko Fireworks Show & Snow Monkey Tour We missed our train and the guide went above and beyond to accommodate the delay and still fit in the full tour.
Each place we stopped was interesting, and our guide was knowledgeable and gave insights into details that most tours skip.
Food was delicious at each place we went to.

The fireworks show was fantastic, and totally different from what you would think of as a typical "fireworks" show in the US - it was a 2 hour competition, featuring unique and beautiful fireworks.

DRESS WARM. We had opportunities to warm up in the van between stops, and they lent us big jackets for the fireworks show, but it was very very cold!

    Would highly recommend!
