Study Karate at the Nippon Budokan

Study Karate at the Nippon Budokan One of the highlights of our trip to Tokyo was the opportunity to train at the world famous NIPPON BUDOKAN. Henry arranged for our group to train with Shibata Sensei and the lesson was excellent for many reasons; Shibata Sensei is an excellent communicator and has a deep understanding of the fundamentals of karate-do, which he explains in an easy to understand manner....perfect for advanced grades or complete novices. When we return to Tokyo in a few years time we will most definitely return to the Budokan for another inspiring lesson with Shibata Sensei

Study Karate at the Nippon Budokan

Study Karate at the Nippon Budokan Thanks to Henry for the introduction to a very special dojo on our trip, and to Shibata Sensei for his kindness and great instruction. We will certainly be working on the details covered in that almost-private lesson, and hope to be back on our next trip to Japan!

Study Karate at the Nippon Budokan

Study Karate at the Nippon Budokan Training in Japan has been a lifelong dream of mine, so of course I was delighted to visit the Budokan on my trip! This place is so significant to Japanese martial arts, I was surprised at the small class size... perhaps as the karate dojo is in a slightly hard-to-find corner of the Budokan complex, and they don't seem to do much promotion of the class. Still, the class was very technically detailed and explanations by Shibata Sensei very clear. A great karate experience I will never forget!

Train your inner spirit in a samurai & ninja training, Tokyo

Train your inner spirit in a samurai & ninja training, Tokyo I enjoyed this session very much. Everthing seemed new. From warming up to throwing the shuriken. Jun taught me a different way to take out and putting in back the sword. Not easy though but Jun explained it by doing a little demonstration. He also taught me that not everything is about physical strength. Mastering a proper technique is vital. Especially when throwing the shuriken. Again I can relate some of the movements into my daily routine which may help me to avoid injuries and strengthens core muscles. When I showed photos of me attending this class to my friends, they all mostly have same view. Awesome experience!! And it is Awesome!. Thank you Jun. I have a new hobby now. Really recommend to all the girls and women who seek different kind of holiday. Love it..

Join a Shinkage-ryu Bujutsu Martial Art Workshop, Tokyo

Join a Shinkage-ryu Bujutsu Martial Art Workshop, Tokyo I came to this class alone and with zero knowledge of any martial arts. And I did not regret it all. Watching them doing demonstrations before we started is like watching Samurai filem. Each movements is artistically done. And when it is my turn to try, I realised, those gentle yet powerful movement is not for the ordinary., but everyone can learn and master it. Taking out and putting the sword back is not easy. I can relate most of the movement to my daily routine. And I wish I could have spent more days to practice this beautiful art. It is a very good intro to new comers or who wants different kind of holiday. If only I get the chance to dress like Samurai!!!
