설명

In this activity designed for beginners, you will learn how to dye and draw using a traditional Japanese method called "Yuzen-zomé" on a handkerchief or coaster. Your instructor is Kiichiro Fujiki, who has been a Yuzen dyer for 55 years and now collaborates with Disney on projects. He has also dyed and designed many delicate but vibrant kimonos for films. To give you a brief history of the craft, "Yuzen-zomé" was originally started by Yuzensai Miyazaki about 300 years ago in Kyoto. The beautiful and elaborate Yuzen-dyed kimonos were a colorful element of Geisha culture during the Edo era. Today, "Yuzen-zomé" is still very popular and is sought after by many people. In this beginner's course, you will be able to make your own handkerchief or coaster. You can use your favorite colors to express yourself. -- All finished products will serve as your souvenir of this unique experience.
