Key Information

Description

Join our Osaka Half Day Tour and discover Osaka's favorite snack - the Okonomiyaki or Takoyaki. You will have a private guide who will take you around Osaka! Go around the city in your preferred pace, and ask many questions! Osaka Castle, a grand structure dating back to the 17th century when Osaka became the center of Japan and began to prosper as a great town of merchants. First we visit Osaka Castle. It boasts gigantic and exquisite stone walls which are the highest in all of Japan. Many sections of the castle have been lost in history. The total length of the stone walls is about 12km or 8miles. We will go around the Osaka Castle Park, up the seven-story main tower and take a close look at the unbeatable walls surrounded by two large moats. This is the third Osaka Castle, built after the first Osaka Castle was burnt down during the Winter War and the Summer War in 1615. The stone walls of the first castle have been buried deep under the ground! There are many interesting stories about the castle, so let’s enjoy the sights and listened to the amazing history of the castle. Next, we will visit “Dotonbori” to have a popular snack. It’s the liveliest area in the heart of the old town centre with lots of reasonably-priced restaurants and shops which have replaced the old theaters that used to thrive here. Osaka is called the town of “Kuidaore,” which translates to “eat until you drop.” Just like the locals, we will enjoy eating Okonomiyaki, a Japanese savory pancake containing a variety of ingredients such as cabbage, scallions and eggs, or Takoyaki, a savory round pancake with cooked octopus! We will also take a casual stroll down Dotonbori Street and spot many peculiar shop signs along the way. Looking forward to meeting you and enjoying these two famous sights in Osaka!
