Enjoy Sagano Scenic Rail, Hozugawa River Boat & Arashiyama

Enjoy Sagano Scenic Rail, Hozugawa River Boat & Arashiyama This was well organized and our guide, Mr Yoichiro Nishi, was professional and kind. We had our elderly parents with us and he adjusted the itinerary and pace to suit them so that they could enjoy themselves.

Enjoy Sagano Scenic Rail, Hozugawa River Boat & Arashiyama

Enjoy Sagano Scenic Rail, Hozugawa River Boat & Arashiyama So glad we booked this trip. After the bustle of Kyoto, the peaceful surrounds at the temple and bamboo forest at Arashiyama were welcome. And the Hozugawa boat trip was thrilling. Our host Kazu made the day extra special. Definitely do this trip when visiting Kyoto

Enjoy Sagano Scenic Rail, Hozugawa River Boat & Arashiyama

Enjoy Sagano Scenic Rail, Hozugawa River Boat & Arashiyama The day started early meeting our guide, went on a train to meet the boat which involved a horse and carriage ride to hop on the traditional boat for a trip back down the river. This was an amazing ride with the chaps with the oar and long pole guiding the boat over the rough water, ending at a magnificent temple and bamboo forrest. Highly recommend this adventure

See Kyoto's best sakura cherry blossom spots!

See Kyoto's best sakura cherry blossom spots! We were not disappointed. As we arrived japan had a cold snap which delayed the cherry blossoms in most areas we travelled to. The areas we were taken to were beautiful as some trees were in full blossom and some in partial. Our guide, Yoichiro who is a lovely patient individual, was informative of the area and the culture. And if he couldn't answer a question he sent us an email to give us links to other places that we were interested in. In addition, after the tour had finished Yoichiro guided us to our next destination.
    Thanks again Yoichiro
