I have been living in Saigon, Vietnam since September 2010. I taught English as a Second Language for a year and a half before moving into writing and editing full-time. I edit articles for the English website of Tuoi Tre, Vietnam's biggest daily newspaper, and I write for an expat-oriented monthly magazine called AsiaLIFE. These jobs allow me to have an insider's view of the city, and I know many off-the-beaten-path restaurants and things to do. My biggest passion in Saigon is food. Vietnamese cuisine is incredibly diverse and delicious, and the food scene is amazing. There is everything from street carts run by an old woman to white-tablecloth restaurants with set menus. Another passion is exploring, and Saigon's narrow alleys and unique districts make this the ideal place to do it. Between my experience as a resident here and my connections to what is going on, I believe I can offer visitors unique insights into Saigon.
