Key Information

Description

For a sailing adventure on Hong Kong's waters, book our private three-hour or seven-hour cruises aboard Daybreak, a 56-foot, fully equipped luxury sailboat that can be chartered for a variety of purposes and occasions: day sailing, harbor and beach cruising, corporate team-building sessions, parties, a romantic dinner cruise, or even overnight adventures. Daybreak spends half of her time based out of Aberdeen, and the other half based out of Hebe Haven (also known as Pak Sha Wan). You can choose either of these harbors for boarding. If you board at Aberdeen, you'll sail around the southwest coast of Hong Kong Island, cruising around and going past Deep Water Bay, Middle Island, Repulse Bay, and Stanley Fort. The crew will be happy to tell you all about the history of these locations. For example, though present-day Repulse Bay is home to some of Hong Kong's most expensive real estate and one of its finest beaches, it was a strategic location in the Battle of Hong Kong and during World War II. For Aberdeen departures, you can then choose to end the cruise at Stanley or Aberdeen for some exploring, shopping, dining, or even just unwinding. Stanley has many waterfront bars and restaurants, beaches, and a bustling market. Meanwhile, Aberdeen is home to the Tanka people (also known as the "boat people"), some of whom still live in boats. Aberdeen is famous for its floating restaurants and markets; it also has a fish market with nearby restaurants that serve fresh seafood. If you board at Hebe Haven/Pak Sha Wan, you'll sail to and around Port Shelter, a hilly, cliff-ringed haven in Sai Kung, where sailboat racing often takes place on weekends. If you just want to spend a few hours on the water, go for the three-hour option, but if you want more time to take in Hong Kong's sights and sounds from the water, book the seven-hour option. Whether you choose to sail from Aberdeen or Hebe Haven, you'll get to spend about an hour on land, giving you the opportunity to enjoy lunch at a local seafood restaurant (additional charges apply). You can even ask for extra time to do some moderate hiking, if you wish. During your sailing adventure, you can be as hands-on or hands-off as you like. If you want to learn to navigate a ship, your crew will be more than happy to show you the ropes. But if you simply want to sit back and relax, you're more than welcome to do so!
