Hi, my name is Puspa, but you can call me Ibu Puspa (everyone who comes to my home is welcome as a family member!). I'm a true-blue Balinese girl who grew up in a village near Denpasar but moved to Laplapan village with my husband after we got married. I used to teach cooking classes at several five-star hotels in Bali, but decided to start my own business a few years ago as I am passionate about teaching visitors about our rich culinary heritage and love meeting people from all around the world.

Whip up a Feast in a Traditional Balinese Compound in Ubud

Whip up a Feast in a Traditional Balinese Compound in Ubud This was an amazing class. The food was unreal, we learned a ton at the market and they catered to all of my food allergies. Puspa and her husband were also wonderful hosts. Highly recommended.

Whip up a Feast in a Traditional Balinese Compound in Ubud

Whip up a Feast in a Traditional Balinese Compound in Ubud Puspa and her husband are lovely people, very welcoming and kind to everyone at the class. My daughter and I felt like we part of a Balinese family for a day. It is clear that Puspa has been doing this for a while and is very experienced in getting all her guests to follow instructions to achieve the right texture and flavour in the dishes we were preparing. I especially loved the grilled satay and making the bumbu paste with the giant mortar and pestle (a new experience!). Would highly recommend for a friendly and well-organised morning (try to do the market tour too, very fun!).
