Visit the Sekumpul waterfalls - Bali's most beautiful falls!

Visit the Sekumpul waterfalls - Bali's most beautiful falls! Set up a trip to the falls thru Ketut. We got Mr. Wayan as driver. He was excellent - calm, patient and very good driver. He maneuvered around the choatic traffic with calm and ease.

Upon arrival to the falls, they have things set up and team you up with a guide. We met Wigan, a member of the local community. If you're not sure if you need a guide, we were extremely glad we had the additional guidance and support. He was able to interpret local agriculture, provide input on the history of the area, and most important, choose the best climb down the last steps before crossing the river! He actually diverted us away from the well worn steep path, and lead us to another trail about 30 meters, which was much safer. A couple who had not selected a guide, crept slowly behind us, exploiting Wigan's local knowledge and ultimately followed us toward his secret path. I don't think they would have found the path without Wigan's insight.

The susbsequent stops at the coffee plantation was an extraordinary example of ecotourism which should serve as example to other coffee cooperatives around the world. Great presentation and tastings!

    We strongly recommend Voyagin!!

Visit the Sekumpul waterfalls - Bali's most beautiful falls!

Visit the Sekumpul waterfalls - Bali's most beautiful falls! We had a great day out with Ketut. He was very informative as we drove and at the places we visited. The Sekumpul falls were spectacular and we had a knowlegable guide to take us down. We didn't get to see Mount Batur due to the cloud cover as it appeared to have completely vanished but we thoroughly enjoyed our day out and would recommend this to trip to everyone.

Visit the Sekumpul waterfalls - Bali's most beautiful falls!

Visit the Sekumpul waterfalls - Bali's most beautiful falls! I had seen photos of the waterfall but actually seeing it up close is incredible. It's a beautiful area and whilst the hike is quite steep, it is definitely worth it. Being able to swim under one of the smaller (less painful!) waterfalls is really refreshing and fun. There is a Rp 150,000 entrance and guide fee per person which I didn't know about, but it would probably be cheaper if you didn't get a guide. However, our guides were great and really funny plus you learn a lot from them about the area. On the way back, stopping to view Mt Batur was fascinating and the coffee plantation was also a really interesting and tasty experience. Overall, I would definitely recommend this tour as it is a great way to escape the cushy tourist hub and see some of the beautiful Bali landscapes you would otherwise not see.

Visit the Sekumpul waterfalls - Bali's most beautiful falls!

Visit the Sekumpul waterfalls - Bali's most beautiful falls! We booked a full day tour through Voyagin with Ketut. The booking process was simple and efficient. Ketut contacted us immediately and worked with us in securing the day we wanted. On the day of the tour, our driver was Danny/Denny (not sure which) and he was wonderful! His english is excellent and he shared a lot about Bali living with us. His car was clean and comfortable and he made sure to stop as great spots along the way for photo ops. We started the day at Sekumpful waterfalls with a local guide (additional cost but worth it). The walk is definitely slippery and long but not too difficult. Our guide was really friendly and a wonderful photographer as well. When we returned, we sampled some local Bali Kopi and Luwak coffee. Next stop was lunch overlooking Mt Batur. Great little buffet with the best views of the mountain. Even though it had started to rain, we still really enjoyed seeing this side of Bali! Next we went to the Tirta Empul temple....so cool to see the people doing the holy water bath ritual and temple ceremony. Finally, we finished by walking around the Tegallalang rice terraces. It was a perfect day. We highly recommend!
