There is nothing more quintessentially Japanese than the charm and breathtaking appearance of a geisha and their apprentices, the lovely maiko. It is a rare opportunity for visitors to be able to experience an evening of entertainment with either a geisha or maiko, as they will normally not receive new customers without a recommendation from a regular and well-known client.

Luckily, you will have the incredible opportunity of savoring a gourmet Japanese kaiseki dinner (traditional multi-course meal) while enjoying the music, song, dance, and games of some of the finest maiko of Kyoto. As you begin your meal, you will be served various dishes ranging from delicate appetizers to a scrumptious main course, and then get ready to step into another world as you watch the graceful nihon buyo (Japanese dance) and lyrical music performance. Guests may even have the unique opportunity of playing traditional Japanese games with a maiko.

Enjoy an Evening Cuisine & Maiko Performances in Kyoto Gion An relatively intimate evening with one Geiko (Geisha) and two Meiko (apprentice Geisha). Having the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful meal (but not to everyone's tastes), view dancing, singing, music and games performed by three beautiful women, and then being able to talk with them was fantastic. The venue and staff were wonderful. If ever we were to return to Kyoto, we would spend a few nights. A beautiful traditional hotel.

Enjoy an Evening Cuisine & Maiko Performances in Kyoto Gion This was such a fun experience in Kyoto! We ended up with two geisha's and one Maiko! The dinner was very good and unlike anything else we had enjoyed in Japan so far. It was so interesting to learn the history of the geisha and to ask them questions! We also found the games to be very fun and enjoyable. All in all we were happy we did this in Kyoto and would recommend it to our friends!

Enjoy an Evening Cuisine & Maiko Performances in Kyoto Gion This was a totally unique experience. The staff was very friendly and they explained a lot about maikos and geikos. The food was also good. But the best part was the maikos performing and the drinking games were pretty funny too. And to my surprise both of the maikos also spoke really good English, which made talking with them easier (since my Japanese isn't so good yet..)
