Cook and eat Japanese style breakfast in Asakusa

Cook and eat Japanese style breakfast in Asakusa Matsu san met me at my hotel and walked me to his apartment for my "Breakfast in Asakusa." Matsu san and his son made me feel very welcome in their modern Japanese apartment. I felt more like an honored guest than a customer. I learned how to make tamagoyaki correctly. Also, as the only guest that morning, I was able to follow what was going on in the kitchen easily. Seeing dashi made is much clearer than a recipe. You get full instructions and recipes. And if his son is there he will be the one to show you how to make an origami name-tag! It was a wonderful experience. Arigatou Matsu san!

Cook and eat Japanese style breakfast in Asakusa

Cook and eat Japanese style breakfast in Asakusa This experience was an absolute highlight of our trip to Tokyo! When we arrived at the lovely flat in Asakusa, we first had tea together in a lovely traditional japanese-style room with Tatami mats. Our friendly host, Akinori, then informed us about the great menu he had prepared for us and answered all the questions we had. Cooking with Akinori was very well structured, informative and fun. After first showing us what we had to do, he offered and encouraged us try every cooking step on our own. We also enjoyed cooking with Chopsticks, as we had never tried this before. When we had finished cooking, we sat down together and enjoyed our many tasty creations - it was so delicious! We especially enjoyed the Onigiri (filled rice balls), Tamagoyake (japanese omlette), Karagaake (japanese fried chicken) and misoshiru (miso soup). During our entire stay, we were really exited about how happy and motivated Akinori was to give us insights into the japanese cuisine and culture! We can wholeheartedly recommend booking this experience and want to say thank you again for the great time we had!
