Duel with Sumo Wrestlers and Eat Chanko Nabe in Tokyo

Duel with Sumo Wrestlers and Eat Chanko Nabe in Tokyo It was awesome to see some sumo wrestlers, learn their traditions, and eat the types of food they train with. Would recommend for those interested in talking with sumos

Sumo Wrestling Tokyo—Early Morning Training Sumo Stable Tour

Sumo Wrestling Tokyo—Early Morning Training Sumo Stable Tour So awesome to see them train and you are allowed to take pictures w/ them after. Training sessions is about 2 hours and you get to see many traditions of sumo. Our tour guide also passed around a notepad that answered many questions about sumo wrestling.

The only thing is that you will have to wake up super early and the meeting spot is a tad far from where we stayed, about a hour train ride away. But totally worth it!

Sumo Wrestling Tokyo—Early Morning Training Sumo Stable Tour

Sumo Wrestling Tokyo—Early Morning Training Sumo Stable Tour When booking this, I expected something more like a show with plenty of other viewers around. This was but an authentic experience, almost private (not more than 8 other guests). Highly recommend booking with Voyagin. There were several guides from different booking companies, and our was very knowledgeable and he was the only one commenting what’s going on on the stable by writing and sharing his notes with his guests (as you’re not allowed to talk during the training). I don’t know if we were just lucky, or he’s Voyagin’s exclusive guide but the experience itself was amazing!

Sumo Wrestling Tokyo—Early Morning Training Sumo Stable Tour

Sumo Wrestling Tokyo—Early Morning Training Sumo Stable Tour It was an interesting experience and one that I’m really glad I got to do. The tour guide was knowledgeable and provided context for the practices. Be aware that there is not a lot of space and you will be on top of other people.
