Explore the countryside and rural beauty of Noto Peninsula!

Explore the countryside and rural beauty of Noto Peninsula! This was a wonderful experience-- I got to see a lesser-known part of Japan first hand, full of ruggedly beautiful landscapes and interesting cultural sites. I chose the Wakuraonsen route since I was staying in Kanazawa. The Ganmon rocks and Myojoji Temple were particular highlights. Can't recommend this enough!

Get Tickets to Kawachi Fuji Garden, Wisterias in Fukuoka!

Get Tickets to Kawachi Fuji Garden, Wisterias in Fukuoka! You can get these tickets at any 7/11 in Japan for ~$5 (500 yen) each. I had an injury mid-trip that forced me to miss my Voyagin reservation and forfeit the $48 I paid them — but when I contacted Customer Support asking for help rescheduling, my Voyagin “Concierge” simply apologized for my injury & said new ticket delivery would be impossible at that late date, that they could not help me get new ones — and neglected to tell me I could get these tickets myself on any street corner. But I was so crushed to be missing the wisteria tunnel that I kept checking, and then I found out on my own how to do it. Just walk out the door of your hotel and any 7/11 has a machine through which to buy tickets for most attractions in Japan - including this one. It’s pretty easy even without knowing the language. There is a picture you select of the wisteria tunnel, select your time and date, take the printout the machine gives you, and then just pay at the counter where they hand you the tickets. It’s a slight help to have Voyagin do this for you if you don’t speak Japanese (& I don’t) and they did deliver my original tickets seamlessly to my hotel so that they were there perfectly on time waiting for me when I arrived in Tokyo — but realize you’re paying over a 4x markup for that (unrefundable) benefit alone, with none of that margin going toward customer service to help you if your plans abroad go awry.

Get Tickets to Kawachi Fuji Garden, Wisterias in Fukuoka!

Get Tickets to Kawachi Fuji Garden, Wisterias in Fukuoka! Worried-free being able to book online in advance before the trip began. Tickets waiting for us at our hotel reception. Thank you.
We were lucky to be there in time while the wisteria was considered in fully bloom still. This year it was early. Some other sites around here were already withered.
