Hot springs have been a favorite tradition in Japan for a long time. No matter the season in Japan, a good bath is essential to soothing a hard day’s worth of work. And regardless of age, many visit hot springs for the countless health benefits. There are so many hot springs in Japan but out of the many, “Kusatsu” and “Hakone are probably the most well-known. These are difficult to get to if you live in Tokyo though. So in this activity, you can go to five different hot springs in “Minato-mirai” - all in one large facility - in Yokohama, which is only 30 minutes away from Tokyo. Or you will go to the same hot springs in Tokyo! To speak in more detail, you can do the following in this activity: • Borrow and wear traditional Japanese clothes (ex. Yukata) • Enjoy a “hinoki (Japanese Cypress) bath” • Take a bath in a hot spring modeled after a garden. • Take a footbath, where you can see an incredible night view. Enjoy a hot spring when you visit Japan, and take a break from the daily stress you may be feeling – unwind your body and give your mind a vacation in this almost heavenly activity.
