Description

In this activity we'll take you from the meeting place to our house, and make and eat "Gyouza" (Fried dumplings) together. I hope to show you how to make the "gyouza" we often eat at home. "Gyoza" is a Chinese dish, but is often on the tables of Japanese homes yet the taste of the "gyouza" varies between homes. We, the Hatano family, consist of my husband, myself and two cats living in a small apartment that has a quaint garden. If you come to our house, you'll see what a young family in Japan is like. I'll also print out and give you our homemade secret recipe for "gyoza" that's been passed on from my parents after the activity. On request, we can also go get ingredients for the "Gyoza" at a local supermarket together before the activity starts . At our house, you can also see what types of food are in a typical Japanese family's home. Through explaining all the food and ingredients at our house and at a supermarket, I hope to show you, again, what a Japanese family is like.
