Description

This particular tour (Mt. Fuji Pilgrim tour) begins in Shinjuku (Tokyo), and journeys along the ancient Yoshida trail, starting from the base of Mt. Fuji. Beginning in Shinjuku at 7:00 a.m. participants will travel to the base of Mt. Fuji. Upon arriving at the base of Mt. Fuji, we will make our way over to the famous Sengen shrine. Sengen shrine is where ancient Japanese pilgrims would say their prayers for a safe journey up Mt. Fuji. Then we will go to the Yoshida guchi trailhead which starts at a point called Umagaeshi. From Umagaeshi, we will begin our climb up to the Yoshida trail‘s 5th station, which is approximately 2-3 hours of hiking through the woods. Lunch is provided at the 5th station, after which we will visit the more modern Kawaguchi-ko 5th station. After hiking back down to the trailhead (Umagaeshi), we will relieve our sore bodies by soaking in a nearby hot spring. From the hot spring, participants will return back to Shinjuku and arrive there at approximately 7:00-8:00 p.m. The Mt. Fuji Pilgrim tour includes lunch served at a Japanese mountain hut, a trip to the hot springs located at the base of Mt. Fuji and an English/Japanese speaking mountain guide. Join the Mt. Fuji Pilgrim tour and forget about the hassle of figuring out transportation to and from Mt. Fuji.
