Key Information

Description

This is a 8-hour tour around the most famous locations of Kyoto, Japan's ancient capital. Discover all the best treasures of the glorious city of emperors and traditions together with a very experienced and friendly guide. Following the pick-up at your hotel, we will go directly to the Kinkakuji Temple (the Golden Pavilion). The beautiful garden complex is one of the best in Japan. It's an excellent example of medieval Japanese garden design. The harmonious relationship between architecture and landscape were greatly emphasized and celebrated during that period, and you will still see this today in the beautiful reflection of the Golden Pavilion in the pond's still water surface. Next, we will visit Kiyomizu Temple. The original temple was founded in 798. Since Kiyomizu Temple's terrace stands 13 meters high, you can get a full panorama view of Kyoto city from here. Moreover, Kiyomizu means "pure water" in Japanese. It is said that water from the temple's spring can purify your soul and make your wishes come true. Stroll along the souvenir shops of the famous scenic Sannenzaka Hill, where you can have a traditional Japanese lunch. After lunch, we will go to Fushimi Inari Shrine. At this shrine, you will first see a pair of stone foxes. Because the tail of a fox resembles the ears of the rice plant, the fox was believed to be the messenger of the gods. Moreover, this shrine was worshiped as the patron of business by many merchants and manufacturers. There are roughly 10,000 "torii" or sacred shrine gates. Each of them is donated by believers. You will also walk at Nishiki Market. This market was founded about 1,300 years ago and is still well-known as "Kitchen of Kyoto". Moreover, you can eat around. This tour will be your most memorable experience of traditional Japan!
