Key Information

Description

Located 20 km southeast of Bali, Nusa Penida is the largest of Bali's three sister islands (Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida, and Nusa Ceningan). It’s known for dramatic, steep cliffs along its coastline. On this snorkeling tour, experienced guides will take you to the best snorkeling sites between Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida, where manta rays swim less than 1.5 meters from the surface. You’ll snorkel at spots such as Manta Bay, Crystal Bay, Toyapakeh, and Gamat Bay. With warm waters that play home to a vast variety of marine life like angelfish, eels, and turtles, Nusa Lembongan is home to some of the most diverse reefs in Asia. You’ll also feast on a delicious beachside lunch — we recommend grilled fish! — of your choice at Paradise Beach in Nusa Lembongan. Then, you’ll take an island tour by car or a mangrove tour on kayak. Alternatively, if the mangrove tour is unavailable, you’ll get a private gondola ride or try stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). Manta Bay is a protected bay located southwest along the coast of Nusa Penida. Here, the plankton-rich ocean attracts reef manta rays. These majestic creatures have an impressive wingspan of around 4–5 meters. Their backs are black, but their underside is pure white. Sometimes, you can easily spot these large, beautiful rays swimming around the area. Crystal Bay is famous for its excellent visibility of up to over 40 meters on a good day. Here, you can see healthy, live coral reefs and hundreds of fish in all shapes and sizes. Toyapakeh, located northwest of Nusa Penida, boasts a dramatic coral wall of around 190 meters, as well as huge schools of colorful fish, including the red tooth triggerfish, giant trevallies, and batfish. Lastly, Gamat Bay on the western side of Nusa Penida has a steep, rugged reef slope that’s rich in hard and soft corals. This colorful slope is over 50 meters. Your safety is our number-one concern! While there can be strong swells in the area due to the Indian Ocean’s waves, we’ll carefully monitor conditions and, in the event of inclement weather or other conditions, adjust the itinerary accordingly. Additionally, don’t worry about not being a confident swimmer or not knowing how to swim at all! Our instructors will make you feel safe and comfortable. Book now to get up close with manta rays and see Bali’s natural splendor!
