Get Tickets for The Autumn Special Sumo Tour in Japan!

Get Tickets for The Autumn Special Sumo Tour in Japan! Being we were in Japan for the month of October, an off month for Sumo tournaments, the Autumn Special Sumo Tour was an amazing alternative! From 8 am to 3 pm we saw the sumo wrestlers practice, "wrestle" children wrestlers which was hilarious and adorable, perform traditional song and top-not ceremony and even a little sumo comedy show which got a lot of laughs out of us. There were also, of course, several sumo matches. Very pleased overall. You'd be missing out to pass up this opportunity!

Make your own samurai knife with a certified swordsmith!

Make your own samurai knife with a certified swordsmith! I have always had a fascination with the art of Japanese sword-making and am grateful for being able to experience it first-hand. Taro is a true master and excellent teacher! Having the opportunity to ask questions and gain insight into just how much time it can take not only to perfect the art but also to craft each individual piece - and to craft my own knife is something I will never forget.
Beautifully prepared lunch and warm hospitality made me feel very welcom and at home. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Japan!

Tour Saihō-ji (Moss Temple), a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Tour Saihō-ji (Moss Temple), a UNESCO World Heritage Site This was a tour that we’ve never experienced before! Toko was our lovely guide & was very informative about everything in the temple & moss gardens. The scripture writing & chanting inside the temple was an awesome experience to do. Would definitely recommend doing this!!

Our 2 sons 10 & 12yo enjoyed the tour as well. Plenty of photo opportunities and questions answered. Niall was warm engaging and very helpful. Thanks. lot - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Made our short stay in Kyoto very fulfilled. And not too tiring for the 6.5hrs plus.

Make your own samurai knife with a certified swordsmith!

Make your own samurai knife with a certified swordsmith! Taro and his group are welcoming, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful.

In this course, you'll learn about traditional and contemporary blacksmithing techniques, learn about the tools, chat with some honestly cool people, and, of course, make a cool knife that you get to take home.

Make no mistake, blacksmithing is not easy and you have to have real expectations. You're not walking out with a fully honed and polished katana. That takes a month for an expert.

Thank you to Taro and his team for a fantastic experience. I will never forget it.

Visit Saihō-ji (Moss Temple), a UNESCO World Heritage Site!

Visit Saihō-ji (Moss Temple), a UNESCO World Heritage Site! very nice garden, the chanting and the writing of the wish prior to entering the garden was also very special. Our guide, Junko, was also very nice, she even prepared English translations of what we were saying, so we could follow along. The experience was very nice and although the entry fee to the garden was highest amongst other gardens in Japan it was not ridiculous and considering the limitations on amount of people and upkeep for the garden and that you also get your own special meditation session, I thought it was worth it. Good experience as part of our Japan trip!
