Great walking tour of Tsukiji outer and inner markets!
We took this walking tour with our two kids, ages 9 and 5. It was super fun, and we learned a ton about the Tsukiji market.
Our two guides, Taku and Yu, were excellent. They spoke good English and were very warm and friendly. There was nobody on the tour except us, so it felt very intimate and authentic.
We first strolled through the various alleyways of the outer market. Our two guides pointed out some of the more famous spots, explained what we were seeing, and made recommendations of foods and vendors to try. We are yakitori, huge oysters, fresh sashimi, dried foods, tea, and other treats along the way. Everything was delicious (especially the fresh sashimi!).
We then got to see the inner market. Talk about a mad scene! Little motorized vehicles were flying every which way. Definitely gotta keep the kids on a short leash in there. But it was very cool to see the professionals at work.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour for anyone looking for an introduction to the market and opportunity to try the various offerings there. The price was very reasonable, and, had we not had the guides, we would have wandered around aimlessly without knowing all the detail behind what we were seeing. We also probably would not have been able to walk through the inner market so easily. It was also nice to have the Japanese speakers to communicate with the vendors for us.
A must do in Tokyo
Really happy with tour and the customer service I received. Would definitely recommend to everyone.
