Hello, my name is Mari. I am a cooking instructor of Japanese authentic dishes and Japanese sweets. I have offered hundreds of classes for travelers from abroad at my home and afterward the class "Cooking with Mari" was introduced by some media. For instance, this class was ranked 5 of the most popular activities on Tripadvisor in 2012 and also introduced as "20 ways to make friends in Tokyo" by Timeout Magazine which is one of the major travel guide publishers.
What my origin is that I learned the basics of Japanese cooking from my mom at a young age. So, my lesson always depend on what I learned from my mom and it is a taste of Japanese local family, I went to cooking schools though.
I just love cooking and meeting with people. I traveled many countries and realized that cooking at local home and being taught by local moms are the most enjoyable time for me in each country. But in Japan, the home visiting and learning local foods are difficult to find for foreigners. That is why I started this class. Please visit our home and enjoy!!!!

I had a really lovely time and Mari, the host, was so friendly and helpful.
We made sushi, miso soup and a Japanese egg plant dish, all of which were really tasty.
Thank you for a great experience!
Arranging the cooking class was very easy to do on their website and we had a confirmation for the services right away. Our hosts also confirmed with us directly about menu choices so we felt very confident going into the evening and it fulfilled our every expectation and more. I think we will try another experience if we can when we return to Tokyo.
