    Simply Wonderful

    My son and I had trouble finding Shima and arrived a few minutes late. The entire staff was very understanding and chef Oshima Manabu personally requested that we sit at one of the counter seats.

    We were able to watch chef Manabu and his amazing team work all night long. It was tremendous spectacle and we were also rewarded with chef Manabu's absolutely remarkable charm and friendliness.

    Everything we ate at Shima was outstanding but, of course, the star was the delicious, sumptuous, buttery-soft fillet which truly ranks as a "bucket-list" experience.

    Reserving through Voyagin was easy and very effiicent. Dining at Shima was truly a great experience. We are looking forward to our next visit.

    A hearty "domo origato" to chef Oshima Manabu and his entire extremely professional and friendly staff!

    Go hungry

    Warm welcome to quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Steaks are weighed tableside and portions are large. The steaks cut like butter, so tender. We were full from our meal but Chef sent us a generous dessert sampler. Happy we were able to try the desserts, perfect ending.

    Brilliant Steaks!

    We were clued in on this place by our friends who had previously visited Tokyo and stumbled on this gem of a steakhouse. Although somewhat tricky to find, the search is well-worth the effort as the steaks here were one of the best I've ever had, beating even some well-known establishments like Wolfgang Puck's CUT back in my native Singapore.

    Each 150g serving of Japan's finest Kobe is tender and succulent - seared to perfection on the outside but beautifully medium rare on the inside. The meat was tender enough to simply fork through!

    I'd order a sirloin as opposed to the fillet simply because its richer marbling makes for fantastic flavour. But there's really not a single bad item on the menu here.

    Staff were all friendly, super-efficient and spoke very good English, so navigating the menu and getting our orders right was never an issue.

    Highly recommended!
