What you need to bring
AMAZING Restaurant! So much to look at and you even get entertainment too!
I absolutely loved this restaurant! The staff was super friendly, we avoided a HUGE line up for this place because of our reservation and we were attended to quickly. We were able to choose from set meals, although you can upgrade certain things like your drink to alcohol or your dessert. The show the Harajuku-style girls put on was cute and they even included an audience member to join. It was definitely a one of a kind place, bring your camera!!
Not the worst
We couldn't get vegetarian options but we're able to come and order from the allacart menu. We were refunded the difference in price as originally we'd paid for a sit down meal. Unfortunately this meant we were not dining in the fun area where the show went on and we're actually as far away as possible from all the cute cool stuff. We were in the bar section which was set up funky but we felt super separated from the rest of the venue. We ordered rainbow pasta which was probably the worst meal I had while I was in Japan. The cocktails were pretty tasty and the burlesque show was good even though it the exact same act twice. I regret making this booking. It just wasn't for me, doesn't mean it's not for you!
Hawaii Monster Cafe Experience
We walked into the Monster Cafe and were immediately in a fantastical world. A different world full of bright lights and colors, a carousel cake with a unicorns, a lamb, cherries, banana, stwaberries and candles on it. It was spinning around, all life size props. There were two greeting hostesses, dressed in big, colorful costumes with make up and hair to match. We had a Prix fix menu and food was incredible. We drank, danced, ate and enjoyed our two hour experience. You Must go! You'll love it! The Chin Family - Los Angeles, Ca.
Full of life
Was an interesting place, full of colour. Glad we booked a seat online as the wait line was very long. Worthwhile going there. Staff friendly food average.
Colourful and Magical!
When we got to the location it was very colourful and it was out of this world!! We had an awesome view of the stage and had a great view of the show, staff were very nice and very entertaining. Took lots and lot and lots of photos :) Food was very cool and it was yummy :) Thank you for a great experience :)
Didn't get to go
Unfortunately didn't get to go, although would still love to experience and see the colourful place next time we visit Tokyo.
I am lost on the value of this.
This wasn't a tour, per se, and you're just paying for a reservation at the restaurant, but there didn't seem to be such a wait that we wouldn't have been able to get in otherwise (and we went on a Friday night during Spring Break). We seem to have paid more via Voyagin that Kawaii Monster Cafe was charging as their cover and we didn't get a choice of which area to sit in which it seems like everyone else did.
Also, it was hard to find and we ended up walking way past it because Google Maps wasn't been particularly helpful and there wasn't super clear signage outside like i expected. It's on maybe the 4th floor of a building that houses other shops and restaurants of a major street in Harajuku area.
Good for photos, slow service.
We were here to celebrate a friend's birthday on a Sunday evening. We arrived ten minutes late but were accommodated and were treated very pleasantly regardless! The decor is phenomenal and the experience was one of a kind for sure. Our service was slow and we seemed forgotten about several times even after asking for water/condiments/check several times. It wasn't a major inconvenience but still led us to feel like we were forgotten. In true Japanese fashion, though, the staff was kind and generous. Might not go again but worth the experience! Arigatou!
A must visit for "Kawaii" fans!
Went for the all you can drink + dinner option. The whole reservation process was very smooth The cafe itself is a really immersive and 'out there' type experience. I recommend a trip to the ladies room, if only to check out the counter top. The meal was extremely filling with several courses of food, some more 'experimental' than others. The staff were all very polite and our server could speak English. A very interested experience overall!
What a pleasing and fun experience ! He performers were cute, epically dressed and killed it with their performance !! just be sure to notify them that you have special dinner and drink tickets , to ensure to receive all you've paid for !! So accommodating , they let us move from the mushroom room to the milk bar!! Which was nice . All you can drink .. SUPER WORTH IT AND COOL ...YUP. Great over all!! 🤗💕
