Description

I am a researcher and a teacher of Sumo - all the interesting stuff about it, the loooong history, the secrets and how the Sumo world is actually a mirror of the old Japanese society...your jaw will drop and you will have a lot of fun finding out about those things. (^-^)v I taught about Sumo at universities, held uncountable public presentations and taught it to Japanese language students at Tokyo Riverside School, where I worked for over five years. The lecture is available in Japanese, English and German. Depending on when you are in Tokyo, we could visit Sumo practice or a tournament, the Sumo museum, Sumo Shrines etc. together or have “Chanko”, Sumo food! (Won't make you fat and I will tell you why ;-) ) Maybe even dinner with a Rikishi (wrestler)... I have teamed up with a former wrestler from Monglia who runs a restaurant. If he is available, you could meet him and ask questions to the former professional too, as well as eat at his restaurant. Many things are possible, but most cannot be planned long before coming here. Please CONTACT ME FIRST before booking about such things and we set up a plan. The Sumo lecture is possible almost every weekday of the year from 7pm, big groups of people can be dealt with if we find a seminar room. Ozzz! (Sumo greeting…)
