At our first stop, we will enjoy a course lunch at the famous “Kill Bill Restaurant”, the restaurant that inspired director, Quentin Tarantino for the setting of the infamous fight scene where Uma Thurman (the Bride) took on the Tokyo gang called the Crazy 88s. Famous for it’s beautiful décor and great food, it has been visited by famous people such as George Bush, Johnny Depp, Sylvester Stallone, Henry Cavill and other notable individuals.
Lunch includes salad, shrimp dumpling, shrimp and vegetable tempura, grilled fish, assortment of skewers, soba and dessert.
After lunch we will walk towards the upscale Roppongi Hills, home to the 54-storey Mori Tower, Mori Art Museum and Tokyo City View observatory. Scattered around its landscape is public art such as Louise Bourgeois’ giant, spiny Maman spider sculpture and the benches-cum-sculptures along Keyakizaka-dōri, as well as the re-created Edo-style Mori Garden .
After our stroll through Roppongi Hills, we will head down the popular Keiyakizaka street toward the ever-busy Azabu-juban Shotengai (Azabu-juban Commercial Street), one of the most popular foodie streets in the heart of the city filled with some of the most historic restaurants, bars and general stores. See places like Mamegen, a 140 year-old shop that sells 90 varieties of snacks and desserts ranging in taste from sweet, to spicy, to salty; and Karinto, a famous shop that sells around 50 flavor variations of karinto, a deep-fried snack made with brown sugar.
Guests will also visit Agemochiya, well known for their appetizing, delicious and nicely wrapped rice crackers and Naniwaya, which serves very traditional taiyaki (fish-shaped griddlecakes traditionally filled with adzuki (sweet bean paste) that has a history of more than 100 years.
