Fantastic hosts and delicious sushi!
We had a blast! Our hosts Arimi and Kazuhiro are just lovely. We first took a tour with our host Arimi to see the fish market. You will see things from under the sea you've never seen before! ;) After the tour, she took us to the kitchen studio right by the market. We then had the sushi class with her husband Kazuhiro...He knows what he's doing! We learned how to filet a fish, how to roll sushi etc. It was a fun day and we can only recommend it! Thanks, Arimi and Kazuhiro!
Excellent trip!! Hosted by a lovely couple whose have great knowledge of the market!! They showed us a "secret" hideaway to see the view of the whole market from up high. They help us to buy fresh uni from their friend shop and where we used for the class.
We used very fresh fishes to make sushi and sashimi...we ate fresh oysters and scallops too.
Defo an experience and tour everyone should try to do
Best Tour and Sushi
We just completed our tour and sushi making class and had the absolute best time. We were greeted and walked around the market. After exploring, we began our sushi and sashimi making class. We learned how to make sushi and properly gut/clean a fish. Arimi's English was fabulous, and she took photos for us along the way. It was so fun, and they provided a very welcoming atmosphere. We highly recommend!
Amazing tour, lesson, food, and company!
What a great experience. Interesting tour around the inner market, which while you can see on your own, we felt more invited and less in the way with a local guide showing us where to go. We got to pick out some of the fish we would prepare later - what a unique experience. Our guide and chef instructor were fantastic and very accommodating.
The cooking class was great. In one of the stalls in the actual inner market, we made sashimi, nigiri, and drank sake. Make no mistake, this is the real deal. They hand you a whole fish, and you go to town. Highlight from our trip to Japan.
Okay this is not just a sushi making class. You make it from the whole fish from the scratch! Arimi and her husband works in the market so they are totally insiders. The fish is super fresh and I had a blast. Highly recommended!!!
What a great way to experience Tsukiji Fish Market!
We had a great time exploring the fish market and learning how to make sushi and sashimi from fresh fish. Arimi's English is very good and her husband did a great job demonstrating how to gut the fish and prepare it in different ways. Plus we got to taste what we had created.
As it turned out we were the only guests booked in for that session and our hosts adapted the tour to our interests and tastes. Arimi even helped us with some restaurant recommendations.
All in all it was a fun experience that we would happily recommend to other visitors to Tokyo!
