Hi I'm Kiichiro !

I will teach you guys how to dye and draw using a traditional Japanese method called "Yuzen-zomé" on a handkerchief or coaster.

I has been a Yuzen dyer for 55 years and now collaborates with Disney. He has also dyed and designed many delicate but vibrant kimonos for movies.

I'm looking forward to seeing you !

With my translator, this was a really awesome experience. To just sit down for a while and carefully paint your own handkerchief was very relaxing and fun.
The host was super nice and interesting, and happy to help if you made a little mistake or wanted any advice. He'll also teach you great painting techniques.

I have been involved in costume and textile craftsmanship and design for many years, having worked with silk screenings and fabric dyeing, as well as painting and decoration. Meeting and taking class with Fujiki-San was very inspiring, as he introduced me to yet another technique that I took with me and added to my arsenal. Getting a chance to learn an authentic Japanese method of fabric painting also helped to obtain a deeper glimpse into the Japanese culture, which I admire and adore, and which continuously inspire me.
