I feel very sorry that not many local restaurants in Japan are convenient for overseas visitors because of very few English menus and English-speaking staffs:(
I have many local Japanese members who would love to help them to enjoy various Japanese dishes at izakaya restaurant with chatting about each other's country.
Izakaya is a Japanese common style restaurant to enjoy dinner and sake, and a place of social gathering for Japanese people to go with friends or coworkers after work.

Lovely to meet a real local
This worked out well. I loved talking to Satoko about everything and the chance to hear about life in tokyo from genuine people.
So much fun!
It was a great night eating interesting food and chatting with Chiaki and her friends! 100% recommend.
Kei is great and the night was a blast.
My girlfriend and I met up with Kei and his friend Chika (sp?) in the Ginza district. He took us to a fantastic restaurant where we ate some intricate meals that were delicious. The night was a blast, but the best part was the conversations we had amongst each other. We got to learn more about the culture and had great dialogue. That interaction alone was totally worth it. Kei and his friend were fun--it's an easy recommendation for anyone looking to enhance their experience in Tokyo.
Cheers & Kanpai!
Nice time with Kano san! Highly recommend:)
I met Kano san in Shibuya and she took me to big izakaya place. She asked me about my food preference before we meet and reserved seat for me. She also recommended raw shrimp menu and it turned out the best menu on that night. It was also a good chance to know how normal Japanese drink and live daily life. Highly recommended to anyone who look for interesting culture exchange and fun night out!
Dinner with Kei
We had an amazing time dining with Kei!! He took us to a wonderful place with amazing food, we had a wonderful conversation and he had all the patience in the world to answer all our questions. We felt like we were having dinner with a friend; we couldn't have asked for more!
Great night of Sake and Conversation
Not such a good photo but a great night, Toko and Hiromi took me to a very nice Sake bar where we tried a range of different Sakes and some Japanese food - it was great to visit a place I would have never found myself and try new things. We had a great conversation too, thanks a lot!
Great trip! Great time!
Everything was wonderful, it felt like getting together with old friends!
A must do if in Tokyo!!
This experience caught our eyes because we LOVE izakaya and we wanted to have a local experience during our travels. Not only did we go to an incredible izakaya restaurant that we never would have found on our own, but our hosts were 2 incredibly cool guys! We had lots in common and the night was full of fun and laughter. It was a perfect matchup! The restaurant specialized in high quality free range organic chicken. The dishes were very unique and TASTY! The menu wasn't in English but thanks to our new friends we ordered the best stuff! We enjoyed our hosts so much that we all became Facebook friends. We hope they will both come to our home city so we can show them a good time here it return! Thanks Takashi and Yosuke!!!!
Best Experience of my Trip
Wow! Definitely the best part of my trip. Keisuke was such a fun dude and we had an awesome time. Learned so much of the japanese culture and we hit up 2 izakayas
Grest way to exchange culture!
My host Satoko was another nice person. She made a reservation at a very cool izakaya. She asked me what I ate and I told her "everything". So she ordered us up some nice dishes. We spoke in both English and Japanese and she helped me learn some more phrases. We talked about Japanese vs American culture and our backgrounds. It was a very enlightening experience and it was good to have dinner with someone from the area. Definitely recommended!
