Hi, I'm Shuri and I'm an IT engineer in Tokyo. I would like to showcase the hidden locations in Japan that you won't find listed in guide books.

My favorite pastimes include karaoke, photography, cooking, drinking, enjoying a good meal, meeting new friends, and most importantly, traveling!

I know a lot of fantastic locations in Japan, from popular tourist destinations to hidden spots that even some locals aren't aware of.

I want to make friends from all over the world. I will do my best to make your travel much more fun. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon!

In depth, local tour of the Okachimachi station izakaya. Delicious food and a sake selection that amazed!

Shuri-San was a excellent guide! The three of us speak very little Japanese. However, this was the only language allowed at some the Izakaya of Okachimachi station, so he interpreted expertly for us. The izakaya were packed with people and it was super fun to hang out with the locals. Shuri-san took us to a very old standing bar in the area, a takoyaki stand facing the street and one of the original sake shops in the area. He is also a very fun guy to hang out with. We talked about baseball, anime, and much more. We tried some local beers, bottles of hoppy (a hop infused drink you add to shochu) and a flight of the local and seasonal sake. The night flew by and before we knew it our great time was over. Since no pictures were allowed in most places Shuri-san was kind enough to bring his camera and take pictures for us outside. If you want to try local food and drink in Tokyo, have Shuri-san show you. You won't be disappointed!

I booked for this experience, and met with host 4 hours later. Very friendly and good English speaker. We visited areas you won't find in guide books. There was literally no foreigners at any places we visited. I was also given a good explanation of different sake and wow did it taste good! Would recommend to anyone looking to experience genuine nightlife in Japan!

    Best tour guide ever!!!!

Shuri, is an amazing person. Kind friendly and warm hearted. Still working in his English. However, after a few hand signals, thinking, communication is not an issue. He took us to a very inexpensive local bar with good food. Where only locals are. Lastly he took us to a hidden gem. A hidden sake bar. Although we learned is not sake bar. It's gsake. Meaning local sake only. None chemical. We met the master there who extremely friendly to us. The locals in the bar who were extremely friendly and welcoming us foreigners in there secret bar. At first they were probably wondering who we were and why are we there. But once they warmed up to us. Everyone was greeting us. What a fantastic tour. Drank the most amazing gsake. A BIG THANK YOU SHURI!!!!!!

    Good times

Shuri was awesome, he was enthusiastic, friendly and fun to be with. Definitely went to places non-native speakers would have seen. Would hang out again, will recommend. If you can do the 2 hour tour.

The best way to start my visit to Tokyo

This was my first tour during my three week stay in Japan and I had so much fun!! Shuri was a very charming and fun host, this was a great way to start my visit. We visited two bars; the first was a standing bar where we drank Japanese beer and ate typical pub food and the second was a very local sake bar. While I enjoyed both, the sake bar was my favourite, the sake was just delightful and the barman was very punk rock I loved it! The owner was an older gentleman who had been brewing sake for a very long time and he gave me a collection of coasters as a small gift to remember the bar by. I would absolutely recommend this tour, thank you Shuri for being an amazing guide!!!

Great time in Tokyo at a local bar that you'd not find as a tourist.

Had a very good time with Shuri, we went to a truly local bar and learned about sake.
Shuri is a great host, very easy-going, easy to chat with, we even went playing arcade games afterwards haha. (because i said i liked video games)
I do recommend this tour, we only went to one bar but i was plenty happy with this and the locals were very friendly and we managed to communicate well despite language barriers!

    A wonderful time, highly recommended.

This was an absolute blast! Shuri is a funny and likable guy who immediately put me at ease. Drank tons of sake and learned a lot!

    4 sakes

We went to a one really authentic sake bar and got 4 sakes in 2 hours. Shuri recommended sakes for us liking and it was really nice.

It would be good to tell people at first that what is the plan for tonight. I was waiting for us to go to the second bar but it did not happen. Also we drank in a quite fast motion big classes so sake was the second thing and getting drunk was the main thing. I was waiting something different.

Shuri was really frienly and nice man. Helpfull and knew lots of sake. The bar we went to was really an experiment. We just felt a bit "that was it - was it worth it" when the evening was over.

    Awesome experience!

We had a great time with Shuri-san. He brou(hit us to this sake place that only a local would know about, introducing us to the motherly owner and other locals in that standing-room only pub. Then we went to dinner not too far away, the items in the menu all in Japanese characters with no pictures to guide you. Sashimi, shellfish, and more sake afterwards!

    Great tour for Sake lovers

Great tour for Sake lovers! My first night in Tokyo I arranged to go on this tour. Shuri was very welcoming and knowledgeable. It was wonderful to try different types of Sake and learn more about this delicious beverage. Ideal for travelers on their own. Book the longer tour as time goes too fast 😊
