Hi! I'm Inoue from Ebisuya, Asakusa!
Riding on a traditional Japanese rickshaw with Ebisuya is one of the most popular activities for tourists in Japan. Unlike with a taxi or bus, with a rickshaw you can see all of the great secret destinations and explore the neighbourhood like a local.
Our drivers in traditional Japanese uniforms will lead you on an exciting adventure where you can learn about amazing places to eat and of course about the culture and history of the town. It’s time to go beyond the guidebook. Experience real Japan from the comfort of a rickshaw with Ebisuya!
Ebisuya is Japan’s largest rickshaw tour company. Ebisuya’s main office is located in Kyoto and since its founding in 1991 has expanded to 9 branches located all over Japan.
We believe in connecting and co-existing with the locals in all the towns we operate in. We believe this connection helps give customers a unique travel experience that cannot be had elsewhere.

A real treat of a tour - especially for large group with children
If I could give this experience more stars, I would. We absolutely loved our tour.
We felt terrible being 25 minutes late to the meeting point (we thought a taxi would be faster than the subway, but underestimated Tokyo traffic), but our rickshaw guys met us with huge smiles and nothing but enthusiasm.
They proceeded to take us on a wonderful little tour of the Asakusa area (running on foot - we were very impressed with their athleticism), answered all our questions, played with our children, allowed for 3-4 perfect photo opportunities on the way and handled our phone cameras with aplomb (one of our guides even took some photos in artful black and white, and vivid chroma), took us through a temple ritual and remained informative and friendly throughout.
I paid for a 60 minute tour, but they gave us an extra 30 minutes, on top of our lateness.
It was the perfect tour for our little ones (both under 6), they can get tired with all the walking involved with sightseeing, so this was a great solution where everyone could enjoy the tour. We also got a complimentary snack from the rice cake shop at the end of it all.
Very pleased, and would highly recommend.
Very fun experience!
This rickshaw tour is very nice and fun! We take the shorter one (30 minutes) but the experience was equally great! The guide talk good english so we doesn't have problems to communicate and the tour is fun because all the rickshaw mans knows each other and they salute and yell when someone past near them. I take this experience with my mother (her idea) and I really recommend it if you're planning a trip to Tokyo :) Good time and if you take it in the morning (in our case was 10 AM) you have the rest of the day to check the places that they show you on the tour ;)
Fantastic experience - HIGHLY recommend!
My fiancee and I LOVED going on this rickshaw ride with Ebisuya Co. Booking ahead of time was easy and I messaged Inoue back and forth several times - he was really considerate about what I wanted to see so that he could plan his route. When I arrived at the train station, I wasn't sure how I was going to find him. No worries, he had printed out a sign with my name on it, kind of like in the airport. I felt so special! The rickshaw ride itself was great, smooth and at a good pace. We stopped every once in a while for him to explain the history (in really good English!) behind the more famous spots as well as take several pictures. After they ride was over, he gave us a few souvenirs (stickers and postcards). Overall, fantastic experience and highly recommended to anybody looking for a great way to spend 30 mins (in tiers, up to 2 hours) touring the city in a unique way with great pictures and personalized historical tour.
