**Available for One day only, on May 17 2014 (9:00-16:00)!** Come and join us in celebrating this very special event - the International Closing Event for Shitamachi Tour in Arakawa Ward happening in Tokyo! Participate in the international exchange activities conducted by local volunteers at this event. The Shitamachi Tour will take place in the unique setting of Arakawa in Tokyo, known for its rustic charm and central location with convenient access to the rest of Tokyo. The theme of the event is Tokyo Discovery, with a focus on historical knowledge and traditional Japanese culture not found in ordinary guide books. Look forward to participating in tea ceremonies, playing the shamisen, and having an international exchange with local people. Highlights of the tour: This unique tour will give each participant the opportunity to: ■Visit historical facilities and places in Arakawa ■See a new side of Tokyo with our wonderful knowledgeable guides ■Experience Japanese Tea ceremony and play the Shamisen (traditional Japanese musical instrument) ■Eat lunch in a rustic Japanese restaurant (Participants are expected to cover the costs of their lunch) As places are very limited (only 30 slots), the tour will be made on a first-come-first-served basis. **Deadline for registration is the 15th of May
