Hi.We live in Takizawa in Fujieda, which is located in a rural area that's famous for producing tea. My father first started organically cultivating and harvesting tea in 1975 and still does today regionally with many others. My activity is suited for anyone with an interest in tea so feel free to visit me in Shizuoka, the number one exporter of tea in Japan!

We had a most pleasant day at the beginning of our trip visiting the organic tea field of the Kinezuka family, welcomed by Tamiko.

We could visit and understand some challenges relates to the tea culture. and get a quick view of the enormous workload related to it. We stopped for lunch, which was delicious and made of seasonal ingredients. We felt it was easy to engage conversation around different topics all very interesting to know more about agriculture on one hand, and about what makes us so different and so similar at the same time on the other hand. All this with baby Tsutsuro (hope I got it right...) watching us !

Tea tasting and black tea factory visit ended the day. We were very happy we had the opportunity to meet the Kinezukas; we wanted to visit a tea field, since living in Canada there isn't much tea growing, and what better way than to talk directly to people engaged in their trade and their community!

    Thank you once again !
