Experience the Japanese tea ceremony and meditation in the suburb of Tokyo, Atami! We invite you to a tea ceremony at a traditional house, which is located in an area with great Japanese architecture! We will be serving Japanese tea and sweets, as we talk more about Japan! You will also be able to experience Zen meditation under the guidance of a master! The tea ceremony and the tour of the traditional guesthouse will take one hour. The meditation will take about 30 minutes. The guesthouse was built in the 1920s and was used as a villa that was owned by a famous Japanese CEO. When the Emperor of Meiji period was thinking about relocating the capital from Kyoto to Tokyo, he decided to have a villa in Atami even though there were many other popular places. A lot of nobles had villas in Atami in those days and there are still a lot of villas that belong to famous companies. -Access- Atami is located 50 minutes away from Tokyo by train, and it is also within the Japan Rail pass area. You can enjoy the hot springs with both the mountain and ocean scenery. Narita International airport - Tokyo station : 60 minutes by train Haneda International airport – Tokyo station : 30 minutes by train Tokyo station – Atami station : 50 minutes by bullet train : 2 hours by train (Tokaido line) Nagoya station - Atami station : 2 hours by bullet train Kyoto station – Atami station : 2 hours by bullet train (change to Tokaido line at Mishima station) We can pick you up at Atami station. It will take about 10 min to get to the guesthouse. We look forward to meeting you!
