Hi, I'm Tokie.

I was born and grew up in Osaka, and I have lived in Osaka for 90% of my life. I like to show people around my city, not only famous sightseeing places but also local places where you can feel how real Osaka is.

I also travel a lot. I have traveled to Europe, South East Asia, North and Central America, and more. I always enjoyed tours where I could meet local people and enjoy an awesome experience. So I want to offer similar tours here in Osaka.

My likes:
1. Local tours
2. Good food
3. Cooking
4. Language and culture exchange (I can teach Japanese!)
5. Japanese calligraphy
6. Running (I have some marathon experiences.)
7. The beach (That's what I miss here in Osaka!)

Please contact me if you want to enjoy Osaka and Japan!

Yayoi (our guide) was the best! And the castle was amazing.

Yayoi picked us up from our hotel which was great because we have had a hard time navigating the subways.

She showed us around the castle and grounds and her perfect English made it easy to take in the rich history and heritage of the Osaka Castle.

Yayoi then took us to the Dontonbori area of town where we had a wide variety of choices for lunch. We chose udon and had a delicious lunch.

    Ookini, Yayoi!

A Learning and Enjoyable Walking Tour

Booking a private tour with a local guide was one of the best thing that I did. Our guide was a good English speaking guy, Kei Nakayama.Kei-san arrived early and informed me by email his location since there were 2 entry points in the meet up area.

He explained to us the significance of the place (Osaka Castle & Dotonbori) in such a way that you learned as well as enjoyed it, specially the eating part at Dotonbori. In case I will again have the chance to visit Osaka, I will surely book with Voyagin.

I am impressed with how Voyagin was able to set up a tour for me and my family at the last minute. I called at almost noontime and talked to a Henry Bellinger and requested a half-day tour on the same day. He was able to set up a 4-hour tour that same afternoon.
I also made a mistake when I tried to confirm my booking online, but I was immediately refunded for the Paypal payment I made. Henry even called back to make sure I everything was okay.
Our host Tokie arrived punctually to pick us up from our hotel. She is a very nice and sweet person! On our way to Osaka Castle, it seemed we would be late so she had to excuse herself and ran a good distance to the ticket window to make sure she got our tickets, and she requested the guard to give my family a few minutes before closing the gate. This is what we liked most about her.

The tour itself was fun although we were not impressed with the Osaka Science Museum. I would recommend going to the Sky Tower instead. Dotonbori tour is okay, however, touring the Castle was the best part.

    A great day

We had a great afternoon with Taku our guide, it was private tour so it was so flexible with time, my kids walked slowly & stopped any time they wanted
We booked this tour at very late evening for tomorrow afternoon tour so a bit of worry but Voyaging did send email very early in the morning to confirm. We bought tickets to go inside the Osaka castle to visit museum & went to Dontoburi, amazing walking street with lots of restaurants & shopping. Thanks Voyagin & Taku for a great culture tour

    Nice tour! Highly recommended

Had a great time with Hiraki-San. We went through most of our tour in great time. Our tour guide was happy to show us more sights. Lots of fun!

Best way to get a short introduction to Osaka!

I requested the experience to start around 3.00PM as we were scheduled to arrive at Osaka from Tokyo at 2.00PM. After checking in, Hiroki-san was already waiting for us at the lobby. He took us to Osaka Castle first as the castle closes around 5.00PM. Hiroki-san is born and lived in Osaka all his life, so he really knew Osaka very well. We then went to Dotonbori, where we experienced first hand the Osaka tradition of kuidaore (Simply translated as to eat oneself into into bankrupt or eat till you drop). He showed us his favorite Tako place before our Okonomiyaki dinner. Truly a great foodie experience. Thank you, Hiroki-san!

    Great day spent with Kei

Kei was a very knowledgable, energetic and accommodating guide. His English was very good what made communication so easy. He found out quickly what we like, and combined the sightseeing with interesting facts and cultural entertainment, we did not feel bored a second!
Kei also made personal adjustments on our tour in terms of time and meeting place and content, which was very helpful because we only had little time in Osaka.
It was a special day, we felt very welcome and we got a good feel for the city. Thank you Kei! (Anna&Rob)

Our host was very kind and knowledgeable. The whole family really enjoyed the tour.

We were lucky to have Yayoi-san as our guide. She has an excellent command of English language, was very friendly, knowledgeable and went to extra lengths to secure reservations for our group of 7 people during a very busy period at Dotonbori street. We really appreciate all of her kindness towards my family and I. It really was a highlight of our trip here in Japan.

    Superb private tour!!!

I booked the day before my tour because I just found out about govoyagin.com so I was a bit pessimistic that I'll get the tour confirmed! But it was and we got Toeki as our tourguide! Request for her because she is so nice!! All of our questions whether it was about Japan in general or about something random that we saw along the way, she would answer them! She was cheerful from start to finish that even if we were really tired from the tour we just were enjoying asking her about anything. 5 stars for her and this tour!
