We are a restaurant that sells traditional foods of Japanese "Udon". Udon is a type of thick wheat flour noodle of Japanese cuisine. Ownerchef has created a real delicious soup and noodle by the research from many experience and training of Sanuki authentic noodles. We want to provide delicious UDON, warm heart, usually Japan to customer. We are dedicated every day for making our menu with confidence in safety. Foreign tourists coming to Miyoshiya is increasing every day. So I want to spread throughout the world the name of "udon" instead of "Japanese Noodle". I would like to provide the taste of real Japanese food to foreign tourist. The town of Osaka in which we live is a town of a smiling face and food. I would like to propose a plan that you can take home as good memories.

Also, I assume a food education activity, such as child care centers in the region udon. I hope children can feel the taste and fun to make UDON their own.

Great fun and so much noodle to eat!

Small class with care and equipment for everyone. My kids (8 & 6) and we enjoyed making own udon and eating it with great conversations.

Fantastic udon-making class will change your view on udon forever

Marvellous session with the one and only Udon Meister of Osaka, Hiro!
I had so much tasty udon that afternoon that I was still full the next morning.
I had some very special sake tasting too.
Now I will try to make my own udon noodles at home.

I heartily recommend this to everyone.

    Great class and delicious Udon!

We had such a great time making udon noodles from start to finish. Chef Hironobu and his daughter were so kind and very funny. Great hospitality and wonderful hosts! They answered all of our questions and explained everything very clearly. It was definitely a wonderful experience that we would recommend to anyone who wants to make udon at home!

This was a really fun experience! After making our udon we ate it with 2 different sauces which was delicious. I would recommend anyone to do this tour.

One of the activities that my friend Shihomi and I wanted to do in Osaka was to learn to make Udon (when in Rome, right?). Not only is Hironobu-San the consummate host he is such a genuine, gifted craftsman and passionate gentleman, who is just plain fun to be with!
We had such a great time making Udon, chatting (speaking a little Japanese is an asset) and then tasting the spoils of our work and also tasting various types of sake (we loved it SO much we ordered a couple more, oops!)
Totally recommend this class, and allow time to walk the neighborhood and pop into a couple of Izakayas too, it's vibrant and truly reflects the true Osaka!

First of all, Miyoshiya udon shop is incredibly easy to find. If you're come out of Namba station using the Nakai line like were, its just a 2-3 min walk. The whole area is great to explore.

When we arrived we were greeted by Hironobu-san and his daughter Tomoko-chan who were both amazing! They began with an introduction to the history of udon and it's evolution from dumpling-like pieces to the noodles we know today.

Making the udon by following Hironobu-san's demonstration was straightforward and lots of fun. When you are ready to cook you get the option for dashi or curry broth to eat with. While the dashi is good, the curry was my favorite.

I recommend this experience to anyone who likes to cook, since this is something you'll want to continue making when you return home.

Hiro was a great host! So energetic and happy! We loved his company and loved the udon class, got involved and he explained history of it, afterwards we got to cook our own noodles and with tasty dipping sauce. The experience is worth it and fun, will recommend it to all my friends to go and try. Hiro is the best and his icon graphic face is exactly how he is in real life. :D

We took a group of 15 students to do this activity. It was one of three we did through Voyagin and was easily the best. The owner is warm hearted and funny and enjoyed cracking the odd joke here and there. His instructions were clear and he and his assistants were always there to help.

The activity itself was fun to do as well. The owner's daughter also deserves a special thank you for her help.

Thank you for contributing to our school group's trip of a lifetime! We're glad we visited you!!

We'll be back in two years!
